Frequently asked questions

Answers about Moroccan health insurance

What is the difference between AMO and CNOPS?
AMO is Morocco's compulsory health insurance. CNOPS administers it for civil servants and the public sector, while CNSS administers it for private-sector employees.
Do I need supplemental insurance in addition to AMO?
Basic AMO generally covers 70% to 80% of costs. Supplemental coverage reduces the remainder, especially for hospitalization, dental care and glasses.
Does RAMED cover dental care and glasses?
RAMED covers care in public hospitals and participating centers. Dental and optical coverage depends on the facility and annual limits.
How much does private health insurance cost per month in Morocco?
Premiums range from about 250 MAD per month for basic employer coverage to more than 800 MAD for premium coverage.
Can I combine more than one plan?
Yes. You can combine basic AMO with supplemental coverage, but total reimbursement cannot exceed actual costs.
How is a Jivox teleconsultation reimbursed?
AMO reimburses teleconsultations using the same reference rate as in-person consultations. Jivox automatically sends the claim form.
Are all medications reimbursed?
Only medications on ANAM's reimbursable-products list are covered, based on the reference price.
What can I do if reimbursement is denied?
You may appeal to ANAM within 60 days with the decision, prescription and invoice.
